Digital Literacy

Digital literacy is a subject that has many sides to it. It is more than just IT skills and can encompas a whole host of skills.

Worcester College of Technology has just won a JISC bid regarding Digital Literacies. This project has so much potential to inform others I'm glad to be a part of it and can't wait to get started.

Time is whizzing by....

How quick has this academic year gone? I nearly blinked and missed it!

Having been FE teaching for the latter part of the academic year (after HE teaching at the beginning) I feel time has accellerated due to various demands on time.

It is now July and planning for September is in sight. I am also one assignment away from completing Masters degree number 2 with fingers also crossed eagerly awaiting my studentship news to start the EdD in the Autumn. Annoyingly if having passed by the studentship opportunity last year, I'm really hoping my luck holds out for this year too. I feel more ready and focused for an EdD now, with even a research plan in my head based round digitial literacies in FE and He.

Happy New Year

New year, new ideas, new enthusiasm!

This year I've got to finish my MA in Online & Distance Education to then give my brain a much needed break after two Masters Degrees. Work, I want to make a difference and enthuse teachers on the subject of blended learning......a challenge considering the politics surrounding this subject!

I'm starting positive with determination this year, so with a lot of hard work and some fingers crossed I will reach my goals.......
